• Perseus® a500

    Anaesthesia machine

Requirements profile

Full anaesthesia workstation

The Perseus® A500 is a milestone in anaesthesia technology. For the first time, usability, ergonomics and workflow optimisation are so resolutely at the forefront of product development that there is talk of a paradigm shift in anaesthesia machine technology. In 2007, the year the Corpus-C design agency (now Corpusdesign) was founded, the Fürth-based design agency took over the corporate design development of Dräger medical in order to develop the idea into a series product. The entire Fürth design team was fully committed to the new product throughout this period, which was now presented to the world public for the first time in 2012.

Implementation

A key unique selling point of the Perseus® A500 is its striking backbone principle. The work table positioned at seat height in the front, which also contains the essential assemblies of the workstation, is mounted on the front of the unit column. The rear, on the other hand, is a central connection point for gas management, while the sides of the backbone are a continuous interface system with integrated cable management, offering the GCX assembly standard from the chassis to the top cover. With its rail length of over 130 cm on both sides, this is something special among the common anaesthesia machines, because a wide range of different accessories can be mounted here, allowing enormous flexibility. To each his Perseus, one could say here, optimised according to the personal needs of the respective anaesthetist.

In addition, there are different storage trays that can be positioned or attached to the unit just as easily. The unit becomes a “Medusa” in the truest sense of the word and offers space on various levels for e.g. disposable gloves, sterilium, respiratory masks, etc., which already takes up a lot of storage space. If there is still not enough space, there is an optional drawer module that can be fitted under the table. Important things can then also be kept locked away here, should this ever be necessary. A highlight is the central braking system, which can be operated from different sides.
